Our Story
Starting as an online business in 2015, Hino Art Materials (Hinoart) established itself as Hanoi’s first official retailer of artist grade materials with a fully licensed store since June 2017. Our team consists of professionally trained and self-taught artists, art lovers and learners of all kinds.
While we may consider ourselves an indie business, Hinoart has grown far from its starting point following our passion to deliver the highest grade art supplies to artists and hobbyists of all ages. We have always set our eyes on a consistent customer-oriented approach, and seek to keep raising the bar in our hope of providing positive influences to the art scene in Vietnam.

Dù còn là một cửa hàng cá nhân quy mô nhỏ, Hinoart luôn cố gắng theo đuổi ủng hộ thị trường họa cụ chính hãng, mong muốn tiếp cận khách hàng mọi lứa tuổi và trình độ cũng như tham gia các hoạt động góp phần hỗ trợ phát triển nền nghệ thuật Việt Nam trong hiện tại và tương lai.

At Hinoart, everything is carefully selected and lovingly handled to meet the needs of art lovers, whether you are a veteran with specific requirements or a learner with an open heart. We carry watercolour, oil paints, brushes, acrylic, craft supplies, artists' papers, easels, sketchbooks... with the highest concentration of the market's top-leading artist's grade brands you can find in Hanoi. At the same time, we also deliver student-friendly supplies and fun things to get creative with, all at the best prices you may expect, accompanied with various seasonal offers and promotions! 
Our hearts belong to the arts, and to Hanoi. Our first store in 2017 was located at one of central Hanoi's quietest streets, almost to an uncanny level as it was near Hanoi Opera House, where we learned our first lessons in work, and in the labour of love. Our new location since 2019 - now much larger and livelier - settled down at the very heart of the city, known as one of Hanoi's oldest quarters where you can find various hidden gems, local delicacies as well as within walking distance to Thăng Long Imperial Citadel. Though you may have to enter via a convenience store on the ground floor and take the stairs to find us on the 3rd, we promise to always be ready to welcome you all days from 9:30 to 20:00 - with very few annual day-offs.

We also run a monthly or biweekly workshop series called Hino's Tutorial where we instruct participants to use art materials the way they're designed to - while still allowing freedom of expressions. Our tutorial is quite different from an art class, as our main purpose is to help you overcome the awkwardness at the start of experimenting a new art medium. We will put a new tool in your hands and encourage you to feel it, try it and gradually get used to it. The tutorial series is friendly to learners of all kinds and is offered at the same cost as a coffee (or a boba tea in local context) per 2-hour session.
We proudly present ourselves as part of Hanoi's creative network, having taken part in various creative activities as a sponsor, vendor or organizer. Some of our activities include: co-sponsor for "Sắc Xuân" exhibition by Vietnam Watercolor Society and "Diện Thời Gian" exhibition by Hanoi Art 21 at AGOHub, workshops and vendor stall at Hanoi Indie Troupe's craft market events since 2019... as well as being assitant or co-host to many branding workshops for international art materials brands (Holbein, Winsor & Newton...). We are also the co-founder of Ra Riêng - a display and retail venue of true original arts and crafts from local makers and artists. Hinoart wholeheartedly understands and encourages the ambition to make Hanoi a creative hub for all artists, makers, creators and learners in South East Asia and by extension, one of the world's most exciting places!
